between naps

My brother told me a long time ago to try to paint one painting a day.  Yea right! Who has the time.  But the more I thought about it, the more I thought he was right.  I don't have time to work with oils, though they are my favorite.  Plus, I have little beans in my home and mineral spirits are too strong for them and hard on the environment too.  So it's time to learn something new.  Between naps I have picked the brush back up and have started using acrylics.  I have a lot to learn about this medium but, having that brush back in my hand feels so good.

  2. Lovely painting. And to think you did this in between naps! Amazing! I have always envied those that have the talent of painting (and singing, too, but that's another topic). Your brother had some great advice to do what you love just a little bit every day.

  3. That's a really nice idea, painting one painting a day. I should totally do that too (but right, who has the time!) But such a nice way to get disciplined and actually get to it, no excuses. I really like using acrylics, so practical and less messy tan oil (not that I'm a painter, but I like to dabble). Love the light in this painting. Ominous, bright. Just like a real peak of sunshine in between the storm. Very nice.
