reflecting...

I forgot how much I love November.  The air has turned cold and the skies are that deep gray that only autumn can share.  The nights come quickly as we get ready for dinner.  One of the best parts of my day is sitting and eating as a family.  The baking has been steady as birthday treats and school snacks are to be made.  I now have time to reflect on how wonderful October was.  The seeds I planted in my Pop's garden produced some amazing pumpkins in the pumpkin patch.  The beans had fun going to Gram and Gramps' house to choose their pumpkins for carving.  The firetruck cake that I was nervous to make came out just fine and my son was proud of it.  Little art projects for the season have been filling up the walls and my beans are all one year older.  That little fairy up there won't be so little next year so I hug and carry her extra tight right now.

Happy November Friends

  2. Such a beautiful post, Nicole. I love November too. It's my birth month, which is awesome, but besides that, I just really like the feeling of it. There is so much good to come in the next few weeks. I love that it's cool out now, and that it's easier to feel cozy at home, especially in the evenings. I hope you have a wonderful month.

Beautiful family and a matching home life ... you've got a great treasure there:) Credits to you:) Great idea for that birthday cake...looks simple enough to copy but I guess it involved a lot of love and effort to it!...I love that autumn tree work of art too! 5. Such delightful pictures of your little ones. I don't share your enthusiasm for November - although I have to say is has been not too bad so far. Your home looks so inviting and cosy. It looks like you have been busy baking and doing lots of projects with the beans - keeping them occupied when they are unable to go outside so much. Have a great weekend.

  15. I remember looking at my youngest and wishing he could stay a baby. Then each stage of his life was special in its own way. Now I'm watching my grandson go from preschooler to sturdy little boy. Perhaps I can persuade somebody to have another baby....

  31. Great firetruck cake! Halloween was a lot of fun when our kids were little. I remember our younger son being so amazed that people would give him candy for no reason that he was aware of.

  38. First up, what a lovely quote! Fab pictures Nicole, your cake is marvellous, I loved choosing fancy cakes from the party vake book for my mum to make every year, and I had a fire engine one year (my dad was a fireman! ) so that brought back lovely memories for me! Wishing you and your family a happy November too! xxx
