Some lovely container groupings.....

I enjoy sitting down at night with a cup of tea and my collection of garden photos.  And last night I had one of these...

The most amazing Double Chocolate Chip cookies from Real Simple.  My sis turned us on to these and we haven't looked back!  We usually bake several times a week so I'm working on a baking cupboard that I am excited to share in the next couple weeks.

  2. Your cookies look fantastic! I enjoy looking at gardening books so much. I like to garden but I'm a pretty lousy gardener. I love that photo from BHG, that's exactly the kind of container gardening I dream of mastering someday.

  8. I used to bake regularly when the kids were little. Now, if I bake, I eat it all.

    I love the garden photos.

We are seeing some towns instituting water rationing because of the lack of rain and expect Ventura to be jumping on the bandwagon. I think I need to go to succulents which aren't my favorites. I need to do some research on pretty, but drought tolerant plants. If you have any ideas, let me know.

  12. On you will like having a baking cupboard - I did that in my kitchen but it is in serious need of reorganization because the kids love to dig through it. Those cookies look great!! I love the potted ferns the best - it is gorgeous! Have a great weekend!

  14. Those cookies look absolutely scrumptious Nicole! And the idea of sitting in a gorgeous garden like one of those sounds just heavenly to me. I'll have to make do with imagining through the photos for now haha.

  25. Nicole,
I love that old rusty container with the collection of ferns! So pretty and green. I realize that is what I long form most in winter - all the green of nature.
Your cookies look yummy. I don't make sweets anymore, because I have a sweet tooth and since my daughter is gone for 6 months, I would have to eat it all by myself. What a pity. When I do buy sweets, they only last a day or two.

  29. Hi Nicole, I love the first photo with the rusty containers and all the green lush foliage plants. I feel refreshed and nourished just by looking at it. Your cookies look great! I also enjoy a quiet moment every now and then, sitting down with a cup of tea and a small sweet treat and read other people's blogs, my garden magazines and garden books. It is just nice to savor the small joys of life! Wishing you a nice rest of the day!

  30. At our old house the deck was covered in containers much like the third photo. I like Taunton Press, they publish some good books.
