the party

We celebrated 3 fall birthdays by throwing these beans a garden party!  Heavy rains were in the forecast so I set a table for the kids to create their own fairy/gnome house in our basement.  Each family went home with a gnome and fairy for their new house.

Ribbons were the general theme to create some simple whimsy throughout the house.  And old logs were used for serving trays.  Pictures of the beans enjoying the garden from the past year were hung and a fresh bouquet of dahlias were cut to add some color to the table.

I made each bean their own cake and topper.

And we sang our hearts out for each one!

All the best in the week ahead friends!  I hope the beauty of the changing season brings you great joy!
Happy making, baking, and growing!

  1. I LOVE the pics of the beans together. Your theme is wonderful and the craft project perfect for all the kids. My kids are 6 years apart so I can't imagine what your days are like surrounded by 3 little jumping beans. Have your ever heard the term "Mexican jumping bean"? My mother used to say I was as active as a Mexican jumping bean. And, you have 3 of them.

  35. Such lucky beans to have a Mama who is so generous and caring! (we used to call our first born 'the bugger beaner' so I do especially love your nickname beans! I guess bugger has different connotations in different places, but here it means - one who like to get into mischief!
