gardener's art festival

We attended an art festival at our local nursery and WOW, were there some amazing artists!  Unique birdhouses, hand painted watering cans, and old windows converted into paintings for the garden!  I was so overwhelmed with all of the beauty that I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked!

I must say that I was bummed to miss seeing garden designer Amanda Thomsen present and discuss her new book....
Kiss My Aster: A Graphic Guide
to Creating a Fantastic Yard Totally Tailored to You

But honestly, I couldn't make a 3 year old sit for the discussion!  One day I hope to have time to go to workshops and presentations such as these but for now we will simply enjoy our cupcakes!

 {Stay tuned for the giveaway}

  1. Sounds like that would have been a great talk to listen to. But you did enjoy cupcakes! I am sure she had a ton of fun with you. I love garden art. My mom has this cute metal 'hummingbirds on a branch' in one of her pots and it is just adorable. It reminds me of the dragonflies in the first photo. Can't wait to hear about the giveaway!

  7. I like the book topic - a garden tailored to you. I tend to look at other gardens and compare, but it is like comparing myself to people with different body shapes than me. We have our space and need to make it work for us.

    It looks like good weather for you and the beans to be out enjoying summer.

  8. How fun! I love the pictures you took, and your turn will come, sooner than you think. I am not totally there yet, but It is getting closer and part of me wishes my kids would stop growing up! It is a happy and sad thing...but that is life, and it is a good things we can enjoy things like cupcakes!

  18. Ahhhh! Tiny faerie gardens! YES!
    Our local conservatory had a glass exhibit going on in each of the rooms. It was quite beautiful. But then, it's hard to go wrong with glass and plants!

  19. I totally love the pots that are made looking a bit like large leaves ( in fact I am going to pin them). I wish I could find them here. I also like the window. Are those pieces of glass or tile?
