Camp Rosemary

My husband and I headed north today to check out a garden that I was told I must go see by several other gardeners.  "Camp Rosemary" was designed by Rose Standish Nichols in the 1920's and is made up of many different garden rooms.  The garden is now in the hands of the very talented Kennetha "Posy" Krehbiel.  For more information about the garden go HERE

This sprawling garden sits on 5 acres and every nook of this space has a vignette or a path leading your eye to the next location.  Though it may seem like a very formal space with neatly kept hedges, the borders were anything but.  Many of the beds were organized by succession planting and anything and everything that is blooming for July was squeezed in there!  I thoroughly enjoyed that there were unexpected components to the garden as well.  There were several gardens existing in more natural settings among the wooded areas of the property.  So come on along with me as we tour this magnificent space!
