It's been a thrifty week over here!
Chair from a neighbor that was getting tossed...it has some major potential!
Tall table from a local second hand shop.
Second hand frames...all one buck a piece.
Vintage Shiny Brite Christmas ornaments.
A lithograph of a castle in France.
My number one item to thrift for are frames. Our "powder room" which is right off the family room was in need of some art ever since the paint went up. With the dark walls (BM Hale Navy) I knew I wanted an eclectic mix of pieces. I used a couple of my own oil paintings and the rest are thrifted.
Are you thrifting for anything?
Here is to a great week!

Sir Thrift A lot
I hope you have a great week too! First, that is a very nice powder room! The gallery wall of art looks awesome ~ the art really compliments the color of the wall. I think you should paint more art for your home! Is the one with the huge tree and the meadow yours? Well I won't be thrifting for awhile ~ I don't seem to have an eye for it. I shop sales and clearance ~ I can say I excel at that.
ReplyDeleteNice colour in the lav! We had to stay light and bright as the new laundry/WC has no windows, just light transmission through from the study. There's never anything as cool as your frames in the charity shops round here - that's a classy powder room!
ReplyDeleteI like your picture arrangement! What are you going to put in the empty frame? I thrift dresses, flat sheets, and silverware. I'm currently looking for a gravy boat and a coffee percolator. Thrifting is such a good idea because most new things today are just junk from China.
ReplyDeleteA gallery wall in a bathroom - genius!
ReplyDeleteLove your powder room! The colorful paintings work perfectly with the dark walls. That chair is really nice; I can't wait to see what you do with it. Our dining room chairs are very similar but probably not as good quality, being 90's IKEA stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the color of your bathroom and you have the perfect wall for a gallery of art.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done much thrifting the last few months. Trying more than anything to get rid of things, instead of bringing more stuff home. My little house can't hold anymore stuff and I figured I better start purging now so my daughter doesn't have to do it when I die. Not that I'm dying anytime soon, but it might take that long to get rid of things. Thank goodness for yard sales and my Etsy shop.

Love that blue, so perfect for an art wall, so much fun creating, I am your newest follower and I will be back again to see what you are up to...
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have a great thrift shop, and a great eye for chosing things! The paint colour on the walls is lovely and a great compliment to all of the pictures. I really love that table - is that for the same room, or do you have other plans for that! Some lovely things and the room is looking great. Hope that you have a good week too. xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got alot of good deals and so much potential. Love the pictures you put in the bathroom and the color is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love that dark blue! And your art pieces really stand out against it.
ReplyDeleteWow!! You are so good at finding awesome thrifty stuff. Love your powder room
ReplyDeleteYou really did find some wonderful thrift items. I really like that chair and table and the frames you bought are also also great. I especially like the lithograph of the castle in France. All of the artwork looks fabulous as you have it grouped. You are wonderfully talented and your oils are amazing! The powder room looks beautiful and with this gallery wall, it is a feast for the eye of anyone who enters. Kudos on all!
ReplyDeleteI love the tall table! And that picture of what looks to be a family is great. But holy cow woman, that bathroom is stunning!!! You've been holding out! What are the floors? I love, love, love an eclectic wall of art and frames. Yours is fantastic. Did you paint the one with the building and the trees? If so, where's your Etsy shop, girl?!
ReplyDeleteSuch an eye, girl! Love it all...and actually, I bought myself a large vintage desk for my sewing/work area last week - was SO jazzed. Hope the week turns out as great as the bathroom - XOXO
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me miss thrifting so much! Must get myself to a thrift shop ASAP. Love all your items, especially the frames...so gorgeous!

What a great collection of images, it really makes the room. I am always thrifting something - it is my job I think. This week I have a toy box to paint which my mum found that was going to be thrown away. Jo x
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love the Shiny Bright Christmas boxes - they are always so cute.
ReplyDeleteGosh that looks great and I love the sophistication that navy paint gives to the room! I love the idea of thrifting for frames... I actually never thought to do that... now I will though! I am way behind on going thrifting... that is at the top of my LIST! :D
ReplyDeleteWe seriously need some painting to happen but first we have to see if we are moving or not... still up in the air because they are still logging, and I sense something else is coming next... we will wait and see what the spring brings before deciding. If we stay I have many of the colors already picked out, giggle! It will be sad if we do decide to move but c'est la vie! :D Things and time changes constantly :D
Hugs and enjoy the week my dear friend!
What a great idea! I see old paintings and pictures all the time but never would have thought to put together a little mosaic of them!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great.....love that blue wall!
Hugs, shari

ReplyDeleteI think I would keep adding more and more artwork to the walls!
I'm currently not thrifting/craigslisting for anything! Pretty content at the moment. Just trying to acquire specific grey fabric from Joann Fabrics which is proving impossible...
OMG, LOVE the bathroom art collection! I love vintage gold frames, too. Also, can you share the gray wall color in the first two photos?? I think that might be the perfect gray!
ReplyDeletelove love love, you know i love me some thrifting! that french lithograph is amazing!
