Our "powder room" which was in need of some art after we finished painting it. I hit up some of our local thrift shops for frames and some art like these....
They were all about a buck a piece. I then added some of my own oil paintings and the room looked like this...
I kept looking at my gallery for the bathroom thinking it's ok but something was missing. MORE ART! I rounded up some more pieces and framed my son's interpretation of a railroad station and now it feels complete!
Before...
And now...
Lesson learned...don't be afraid to make mistakes and keep trying till you get it right!!!
Yes!! Closer together = definitely better! So much!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, very nice. I like the way they look. They looked good before but even better now. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! It makes me feel better that it doesn't happen the first time for others too! Your power room looks so good, I love it, I just checked out your last post too, love your finds! Great job friend!
ReplyDeleteWell I think it looks great how you did it both times but since you like it better this way, this is the better gallery wall! I am glad you are pleased!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I love having the pictures closer together but yes, it does take a bit of work!
ReplyDeleteThey look great Nicole, not that they didn't before, just even nicer with more pictures. There is nothing to say that just because you have done a job it is finished!! xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks just great, Nicole. Hanging pictures can be tricky sometimes but you got it right. Love the background color (your wall). xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI'm always a fan of closer together with gallery walls, so it looks great to me! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks better - I agree. Some times you just have to fiddle with things until they please your eye.
ReplyDeleteCindy
That look so much better, I like how you have grouped them together.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny. It looked great before and it looks awesome now! :)
ReplyDeleteI perfectly eclectic mix of frames and artworks. I love me a gallery wall, and very special that they are your own art works too. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny that you put your artwork in the bathroom.... But then again, it's a powder room that your guests would use and it is BIG and that wall really was asking for it... It reminds me of my grandma who took up painting in her seventies (and was AWESOME) but she would ask that we hang her art in the bathroom because she was too shy for us to hang it in a more visible spot. We hung it in the vestibule so it would be the first things that people visiting would see :) - poor grandma we always gave her grief :):)
ReplyDeleteI do like the arrangement better
ReplyDeleteexcellent - you can never have enough art!
ReplyDeleteWell done!! Your bathroom looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your powder room art gallery, Nicole! The warm colors really stand out against the gray walls and your own personal artwork makes it very special. The arrangement is lovely. I love it! Hugs xoxo Hope you are having a wonderful week, Dear. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love the way your little gallery of art pops off the dark blue wall. The sink is gorgeous and I also love the mirror and choice of light fixture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous little gallery. I think people might spend too long in there now though!!! And I agree it looked amazing on both occasions.
ReplyDeleteOh, I agree - more is definitely better!
ReplyDeletegallery perfection! love the wall color too.
ReplyDeleteawe I love it so much! i think we have the same tiles too!
ReplyDeletemiss ya friend ;)
Oh that is really neat to have an art gallery bathroom! I would put prices on the pictures and if people visit and want the art, they can buy it! How many times have I went somewhere and fell in love with the art on the walls then had to go home and buy it online! If something sold you could replace with more thift store art! Cool concept!! And your reindeer painting is so beautiful, you are a very talented artist!!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much! The gallery is fabulous and I love the wall color and board and batten you have going on too! I featured you today on Give Me the Goods Link Party Sunday Features!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up! Hope you come back tomorrow and share more of your style and ideas!

fun! GOTTA love thrift shops for FRAMES!!!! have done a project myself using flea market frames and i painted them all white to unify them even though all the frames were very different. Your bathroom looks like a fun place to hang out now :)!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love the art work and the wall color contrast with the molding. I want to do something like that in the powder bathroom.
