I know I know, it's not even Thanksgiving but when it's a rainy dark day you have to keep busy inside!
Garden clean up will have to wait, so in the meantime, here are a few projects that i have started making for Christmas. I reused the stems from the mushrooms I made to make Christmas trees.
I used some trimmings to pin on the cones
And here are some colorful trees for Christmas...
In keeping with a vintage theme this year I started to paint some pictures inspired by old Christmas cards...
almost done with this one
What are you making today??
Wherever you are I hope it's a great day!!!
I'm so glad you find time for your painting. It is important to stay true to ourselves amongst the clamor of domestic responsibility. Apart from the snow, your scene could be a representation of our meadow. We had a momma and baby deer in last night. The buck was standing in the trees watching over them.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of the trees is so beautiful! I love your cone trees and your painting. You're so multi-talented. I think it's smart to get started on Christmas projects now, you'll love being able to relax and enjoy them while everyone else is rushing around to get things done. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas craft. Bell and I re off to a craft evening tonight. Love your clever reuse of the mushrooms. The trees look wonderful, modern and fun. Happy crafting! xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is a lovely painting, Nicole! I hope you will make more to show off in your home this Christmas. I made a Christmas card today. I was hoping to get some thanksgiving crafting in today but my idea worked better for a christmas card instead and I am happy with it. It is really gray and cold here too. Makes me thankful for the craft room.
ReplyDeleteI really like the painting too and keep coming with those fall photos, I really love them , they probably seem so normal to you but to me here in the UK they are wonderful. Jo x

ReplyDeleteThat first photo is really stunning, Nicole! Oh, I love your little Christmas trees - how creative you are ( I love the mushrooms, too) and your painting is so wonderful! You are so talented my friend. As for me, I just started crocheting again - a scarf with thick, nubby yarn. Hope you have a good ending to your week. A hug, xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's too early to think about Christmas! All the stores have their trees up and decorated and it certainly puts me in the Christmas mood for sure. I really love your first photo. Those trees are sooo pretty...never seen anything like that before! and your painting just gave me a great idea for a baby quilt...I can see that picture designed into a quilt! How sweet would that be huh!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you....Shari

First of all, it is never too soon to think about Christmas! I have to hold back every day after Halloween until a "reasonable" time to pull out the decor!
