I started Making Mondays a while back to push myself to create at least once a week. Ahhh..... let's just say that didn't happen! One day the studio will be done, my stuff will be in one place, AND maybe I will have a few minutes to consistently create SO why not hang on to this idea for a bit longer!
Projects these days have to be somewhat quick or kid orientated.
When the flood hit our home my Ikea curtains got stained from the muck water. I knew I could repurpose some of the material and was able to do just that with this project.
All of the materials I had lying around...
*styrofoam balls *pushpins *dried flowers and stems *sequins *rope, yarn, ribbon *white material
Using pins to attach the hanging loops and faces saved me a lot of time!
Instead of stringing my garland like I had originally planned, I hung the individual ghosts from our coat hooks.
Linking up with...
And here is what I accomplished today in the garden room...
lattice is installed and climbing hydrangea is planted
Autumn Clematis is safely transplanted to be grown over arbor
Catmint (Montrose White) and Miscanthus sinensis (Graziella) are planted under the window
Joe Pye Weed is planted..I have always wanted one of these guys! Hope he blocks that meter soon!!
It really doesn't take much to make me happy. Just looking out the dining room window now brings me pure joy!
All the best in the week ahead friends!
Happy making, baking and growing!!!

ReplyDeleteYour garden room is going to be fantastic, Great selection of vines! One warning, though: my Japanese forest grass was just chewed down to the ground by the rabbits!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, the little ghosts are too cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd how exciting to get more done outside. It's lookin' great!
Love that lattice in the garden that is going to look fab when it is all established. We don't really do Halloween décor like you folks in the UK but if I did I would copy your ghosties! Jo x

ReplyDeleteIt will be fun to look outof your window, dreaming how beautiful your gardenroom will look next summer when your plants have grown up. You made a lot of lovely ghosts.
ReplyDeleteLove your ghostly little friends! They're precious. And thanks so much for the inspiring garden photos. We're about to take on a similar spot in our yard and I love your selections. -- Jan
ReplyDeleteWow, you did so much work! I love your gate door. Like something out of The Secret Garden (which I'm re-reading on cd so it's on the brain). Also, the ghosts are adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh the ghosts are toooo cute!! I can't wait until next year when all the plants have grown and filled in!! The before and after will be so surprising!! Looks great so far!!
ReplyDeleteThe ghosts are just so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the lattice in the garden. It'll look stunning when the hydrangea starts growing all over it and blooms.
those are the cutest ghosts i've ever seen. and love your new happy moments in the garden...i have climbing hydrangeas in the front on our porch and they are soooooo lovely. the blooms are such a treat! Nice gate/door thingy too :) -M
ReplyDeleteLove the ghost goblins . . . love the beadboard . . . love the little basket on the bench.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty ;) I love the gate and the view ;) cute Halloween craft too!
ReplyDeletexoxo have a great week!
That arbor is simply beautiful! And you have two of my favorites growing in your new space -- I love the climbing hydrangea and the sweet autumn clematis. The climbing hydrangea takes several years to get going, but after a few years it will take off lushly. The clematis is a much faster grower, and may even need hard pruning to stay small enough for your space. Nice job on the whole area!
ReplyDeleteIt must be so satisfying to look out at your beautiful garden through the windows. I am a bit jealous of your climbing hydrangea. I had one once, but no more (long and tragic story). Anyway, I can feel your sense of anticipation of waiting for all the plants to grow in just as you imagine them. Such a great feeling! And I love your little ghosts, too. They look adorable - I mean spooky - hanging there all in a row!
ReplyDelete'Love that ghost garland! You really go all out!
ReplyDeleteI love your little ghosts! They look so cute all hanging together and what a cute idea to make with the little ones. Your garden is really going to be wonderful with the vines and beautiful plants growing outside your window. I have always wanted to grow climbing hydrangea. Your arbor is really beautiful. It will look even more gorgeous when the vines grow. xo
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of plants, especially the Japanese Painted Fern and Forest Grass. My Painted Ferns have turned brown. I hope they didn't die and it's just they are dying back for Fall. I really need to move them. They're in pots now. Your little ghosts and little red toad stools are darling. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe garden is looking really great, I am sure that you will love spending time there - and that you do already! The ghosts are great too, they look so cute hanging on their hooks, but I can imagine that if you make some more they will look great as a garland too!
ReplyDeleteI love the ghost garland, and really glad you could plant some plants that you truly enjoy! I've always admired Joe Pye Weed, and have just never gotten around to trying it out in my garden--will have to do something about that soon:)
ReplyDeleteLove the ghost garland, I love anything ghosty! I can't wait to see your climbing hydrangea in flower, I'm intrigued. My green thumb has finally appeared. Am hooked at the moment. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is to see what the weather is like and hoping I will get to spend some time in the garden xo
ReplyDeleteThose ghosts are so darn cute! Your room is awesome! I like the bead board in your room. An autumn clematis is such a wonderful thing to plant. They smell so darn good! The space is really taking shape.
