Don't you love it when a project takes on a life of its own!?!
I have been working on a fall wreath, so naturally, my daughter wanted in on the action! I cut some extra chicken wire for her to work with and she was off! She gathered things from the backyard and when I caught up with her this is what she created....
A simple nature wreath for all the beans out there!
aww what a sweetheart, she put a little mushroom in there! a girl not afraid of bold pairings :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how children can get right to the heart and spirit of the thing isn't it. So lovely and so just right. Looking forward to seeing your wreath too though!
ReplyDeleteI love it too!
ReplyDeleteThat is too damn cute.
ReplyDeleteLet her know I think her wreath is awesome! Lovely colors and textures she chose. I hope you are all having a good day!!
ReplyDeletePlease tell her that a lady in Florida thinks it's the prettiest wreath she's ever seen. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it Sis!
ReplyDeleteThat is just the prettiest thing! xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect child's gathering of nature. This is exactly the sort of thing my kids were always doing at that age ... the mushroom is an unexpected little smile ;) I saw someone had made a "live" wreath by planting hens & chicks into a wreath base that was hollowed out ... you wait until the plants have established a bit, and then it can be hung up without the plants falling out. I thought I would make one, but the summer is closing in, and I may not have time this year. Have a great weekend Nicole. Wendy x
ReplyDeleteYou have a young artist there. She gets the idea of simplicity and balance with natural materials -- what a lovely creation!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun to make both, your daughter and you, a wreath. She gets the feeling to create something beautiful. She even found a mushroom, real autumn.
ReplyDeleteNot only can this girl dance, but she is quite crafty! Tell her I love it!
ReplyDeleteAh! These are so cute! It's amazing what a bit of scaffolding will do!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I'm not very craftsy but my kids and I loved to bake together when they were little. My daughter swears to hate gardening but favors floral prints. Hmmm... :o)
ReplyDeleteFun idea! :) Happy last day of August!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words on my blog. Little Beans wreath is a work of art. She obviously takes after her mom! Happy long weekend!

So very sweet! I love that you do crafts with your kids. My classroom was always open before school, breaks, lunch and after school for students to "create". They were from poor homes with no art supplies and they loved being able to use my supplies. I loved it when the boys would ask to make a birthday card for their mother. One day when my daughter was 14, I came home from work in the summer (our school was year round then with 3 different 3 week breaks during the school year) and my daughter had found all the supplies in my sewing room and made herself a patchwork quilt top. No boredom allowed at our house. And, I know the beans will never be bored.
ReplyDeleteShe has her mother's touch, I do believe! LOVE this, Nicole - you're raising up some creative little Beans, for sure! XOXOXO Tanya
ReplyDeleteCute! And a great idea for an activity with kids. I might have to borrow it some time
ReplyDeleteThese wreaths are so sweet. I remember making something similar with periwinkle vine. I usually just make grapevine wreaths but will have to try this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better too.
