We've had endless rain in these parts. Good for some plants not so good for others. Mainly some of my veggies. Hydrangeas are starting to bloom and my David Austin right outside the dining room window is bursting at the moment. I like the idea of seeing flowers out every window. Brings pure joy to the soul if you ask me.
June has been about breaking out of routines. Not many projects or makings have gotten done minus some baking with the beans. Rolling out of bed late, make believe, popsicles, bike rides, books, bathing suits, day trips and play dates have been filling up our days. We've really enjoyed this time to just be. How is June wrapping up for you?
Enjoy the week Friends!
Lovely flowers! We also have had lot of rain here in southern Finland.
ReplyDeleteMy summer holiday starts next week, so I am eagerly waiting for that. I have lot of things to do in the garden and in the house...
beautiful garden and plants, love David Austin roses, beautiful! happy summer days to you.
ReplyDeleteWe had some really heavy rain here and my garden too is coming into bloom! I love all the flowers and am enjoying showing the baby new things in the garden. Your plants, and planting schemes are just perfect x
ReplyDeleteI
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful. I like all the greenery punctuated by pops of bright colour. xx
ReplyDeleteOh it sounds utterly blissful Nicole, exactly as summer should be. A shame you've had so much rain, although no doubt the garden is happy. The roses are divine, they really are. It's all looking amazing at the moment, you've obviously worked so hard on your beautiful space. and this is the time of year when it really pays off. June has been busy with school things here. No school holidays for another three and a half weeks (not that we're counting or anything...) CJ xx
ReplyDeleteJune is a wonderful month, especially for the garden but also for us when the weather is not too wet. I just wrote on my blog how June is wrapping up for me. Your garden looks great, lovely flowers and foliage.
ReplyDeleteI see you have variegated ground elder in your garden, it looks very nice but I wonder how ground elder behaves in your area. Here it is a terrible weed, which takes over everything in the garden.
Which you all a lovely nice and warm summertime!
Just beautiful Nic...I adore the rose....everything is looking so lush xxxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden. We too hare getting an abundance of rain. It does break my routine too.
ReplyDeleteWet and weedy here but lots of blooms!
ReplyDeleteNicole, your yard is like a dream. All of your plants are so green and healthy. I've been adding a few more perennials to my yard this year. I hope one day they grow to be as beautiful as yours. Thank you for the lovely tour.
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think about your garden in January and it must be amazing to watch the changes. Our garden does not change that much through the seasons. The major difference is the coreopsis in front of the house which always blooms in spring and lasts through summer.
Enjoy your garden and time with the Beans.
Enjoy
So many pretty plants and flowers! Oh that rose is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteAll of your plants are gorgeous and your garden is a beautiful place to be. We've been doing a lot of sleeping in and slip n' slides and I water my garden every day. It has been great so far. Happy Summer! Glad you are enjoying this time with your beans.
ReplyDeletebeautiful blooms! unfortunately my poppies have all but died but my garden balsams are thriving! my vegetable garden is doing ok as well. doing well above what i expected!
ReplyDeleteOh my Nicole, I'm not good with flowers but whatever the flower is in the second picture, it's such a beautiful colour! Your June is sounding perfect, I'm looking forward to days like those! My June has been pretty good especially at the minute as were are on holiday and enjoying some stunning views and glorious sunshine! xxx
ReplyDeleteCiao Nicole!! Bellissime immagini! Mi piace un sacco la parte in ombra :) Nella quinta foto vedo un Polygonatum bellissimo!!! Spero che i miei diventino grandi come i tuoi!!!
ReplyDeleteUn saluto :)
Everything looks amazingly lush! That rose bud is perfection! Happy summer days to you and the beans.
ReplyDeleteThe rain is driving me a little crazy, but it is far better than drought. Beautiful photos, I think there are a lot of similarities in our gardening styles.
ReplyDeleteGosh can you send some rain this way?!? We are busy trying to keep everything from drying out already. It's hot and dry and there are water restrictions already. Our water is metered too. Your garden looks fantastic, so cool and green and that beautiful rose!! I love the David Austin roses, they are divine!!! My Abraham Darby bit the dust:(. Summers are for relaxing and kicking back and doing what you want or nothing at all. It's recharge your batteries time. I have a few more plants I have to squeeze in somewhere, remind me next year, stop going into nurseries!! Have a great week my friend!
ReplyDeleteSummer loveliness in your garden! Sounds as though you're having a perfect summertime with your family - yay. Still in term-time here- parents' evenings, end of year shows, sports day for the youngest today. Can't wait to kick back and enjoy the garden and beach. Wishing you sunshine and fun. Sam x
ReplyDeleteO mamma, il rosa di quelle rose ... ci metterei dentro il naso e non lo tirerei fuori più :)
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty is popping up all over your garden Nicole! June sounds just wonderful in your house. We're generally more laid back with everything when the warmer months roll around as well. Here's to more June goodness! Hope you're having a marvelous week!
ReplyDeleteRowena @ rolala loves
Very nice ! I really love the roses !
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, Your place is beautiful! There's so much blooming...color everywhere. Your roses are just perfect...and I love the 3rd picture because of the crockery. Little touches like that add so much to a garden.
ReplyDeleteI remember well summer vacations..the kids sleeping late and just "being". That's a good way to put it! I had friends who couldn't wait for them to go back to school....I never felt that way. It was relaxing and fun!
Happy GardeningQ
Hi Nicole, Wow, your garden is growing and filling in so nicely. You have such a gorgeous selection of plants and they are grouped perfectly. Summertime with your children sounds like a lot of fun. I bet you all sleep soundly at night after busy summer days! Take care and enjoy every minute! xo
ReplyDeleteDear Nicole,
ReplyDeleteYou had me with the pretty rose - aren't the David Austin roses so very beautiful and yours is a gorgeous shade.
You must be enjoying summer with your children and sounds like you are all having fun.
Enjoy the lazy days of summer.
hugs
Carolyn
Beautiful gardens and the rose photos are amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe have received wonderful rain as well. We have rain at least 2 to 3 times a week. Everything is growing.
I loved how you are enjoying your family. xx oo
We are taking it easy and enjoying each other too.
Carla
That's great! Both of the flower and foliage are so stunning. Beautiful garden, I like your rose. Happy gardening friend!
ReplyDeleteLove your rose..beautiful. What is the plant under the begonias? Such loveliness. Enjoy your special paradise. Cheers, Beckie
ReplyDeleteNicole- Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! I love that you can see flowers out every window. Your garden is a true showplace. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I haven't taken any photos of all the color bursting forth :D in my garden. You've reminded me I need to get out there before some of that lovely color disappears for another year! My roses are absolutely rioting at the moment... need to seriously get some photos.
ReplyDeleteHugs always,
Beth
It's good to hear you all are taking things slow and enjoying these special times! They go so fast. Your gardens are so pretty and your photography has captured them beautifully!! Don't wash away, my friend!
ReplyDeleteso much gorgeous colour!! And those days sound absolutely lovely - enjoy them xx
ReplyDeleteour June has been very very wet as well, but strangely enough, the push to get garden work done on the sunny days has meant lots has been done! YaY! I also planted a pear tree, so I suppose the rain can only help the new friend survive. It's our second summer with this home, and the baby gardens gain much inspiration from your photos, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, your garden blooms are lovely. Such pretty color and lush plants. Your photos are stunning. Should be in a garden magazine. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteHugs, cm
Can I come visit and sip iced tea in your garden with you? :) It's absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking wonderful this June, Nicole. It is such a busy time of year that the month seems to have largely disappeared. I try to get most of the garden under control before the heat arrives in July. There are other things too: trips to the country, visits to the farmer's market and the flea market. The days pass so quickly don't they?
ReplyDeleteYou should send some of that rain down here, and I'll send back some of our endless hot sunshine! supposed to drop into the 80s and rain this weekend: I can't wait! (and neither can my zucchini ;))
ReplyDeleteYou will be green with envy to know that I live 8 miles from David Austin Roses in the UK. The gardens are stunning and the cafe is pretty awesome too! I must do a post for you, I am going with my mum next week! I have a David Austin one called Strawberry Hill which is out now and it has a whiff of scented strawberry to it. Yours looks fabulous and I love the foliage colours you have there. Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! Nice flowers! Don't tell me about the rain! Here in the south of Sweden it's cold and rainy...still waiting for summer. I hope it will come soon :-)
ReplyDeleteEin wunderschöner Garten. Ich bin ganz begeistert.
ReplyDeleteGruß, Anette
That Rose is just beautiful, I can imagine it smells amazing too! Your garden is looking fine! Mine is getting out of control, I left a chunk of it alone thinking that the landscapers were coming early June, now it's rescheduled to October! Uh oh, going to have to get snipping :-) sounds like a perfect June, enjoy the summer with those beans. Xx
ReplyDeleteJune looks mighty fine in your garden. :o)
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so fresh after the rain Nicole and your plant combinations are simply wonderful but I understand about the veggies - courgettes and beans need sunshine and warmth so I do hope the rain abates and you have sunny weather soon.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is wonderful, Nicole - so much love planted there! I agree that seeing flowers outside the windows is the best thing about keeping a garden. I am sorry about your maple tree ( I scrolled down to your previous post). It is true that gardens are always changing, but it is hard to part with such a beautiful part of your memories. It sounds like you and the beans are making the best of summer so far! I am loving these long, hot summer days! Mine are not so busy as yours anymore and I do miss those days of picnics at the lake, sunburned noses and dropped hot dogs :) Enjoy your sweet summer days! xo
ReplyDeleteNice flowers ;-)
ReplyDeleteCéline & Philippe
Hey Nicole,
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I've just scrolled up and down the pictures of your beautiful garden half a dozen times. What an amazing space you've created. I love all the textures and different shades and hues. June is treating us quite well here. Apparently the south west of the UK is in for a heat wave. I'm hoping that may encourage some of the plants to burst forth.
Leanne xx
Your gardens are so beautiful Nicole! You must be pleased with them as I know how much you enjoy them. Hopefully you and your gardens are surviving some of the severe weather hitting the country this summer. I heard you had some very nasty stuff this past week up there. Hope all is well and you are enjoying the summer with your beans.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Those roses are beautiful! Everything is! I love how much foliage variation you have - I'm constantly working on that.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to have been a very good month for you, Nicole, and everything in your garden, 'is coming up roses' as the song goes. Good! Love to you and the beans and here's hoping for a lovely summer ahead for us all. :-)-x
ReplyDeleteIt took me quite some time to move forward from your rose. I just didn't want to scroll down and lose it.
ReplyDeleteNicole, your photos are so good! And so is your garden. It surprises me how in every post it looks like a new garden. :)
June is wrapping up for us with Day Lillies blooming a gorgeous orange.
Hugs!
Sounds like summer fun to me! Bike rides and popsicles! Love it. I remember summers when I was about 10, I would grab a book and ride to the park and sit under a tree and read for hours, it was pure heaven for me.
ReplyDeleteAwww to be young and free again, now I just grab a margarita and jump in my pool...same effect! hahahaha!
Love all the colour and blooms in your garden What is the name of your David Austen rose? Bet it smells divine.
ReplyDeleteOh Nicole, your garden pictures took my breath away! Those roses....oh my! Thank you for making my week extra beautiful :) Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers..!! It must be nice to look into your gorgeous garden everyday.. Seems like you had a fun summer with your lil' beans. Have a lovely day!!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! And gardens are so beautiful! Love roses!
ReplyDeleteI backtracked to see what I have missed on your blog posts for the past couple of weeks. As usual, things are looking gorgeous around your house. I was sorry to hear that you are losing your beautiful maple tree. My beloved eucalyptus tree suffered terrible damage during the historical(at least for us in Aiken, S.C.) ice storm this past winter. My husband cut some large limbs that were hanging on the ground off of it last year, much to my dismay. It will be a miracle is we don't have to take it down. I read your last post about the garden tours and am really impressed by all the beautiful places on the tour. I was going to leave a comment on that post but could not find any way leave one on that post. I had seen your brother performing on one of your post last year, I believe. He is so handsome and incredibly talented. I posted about him and shared the John Till Music site with some of my Facebook friends. I went to his Youtube videos as well and I can see that your family is blessed with an abundance of talent, including you!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful shots of your lovely gardens Nicole! Gosh, you've done so much work there, and everything is filling in so nicely. I see a few familiar blooms that are also in my garden, which I always think is nice :) I just enjoyed travelling through your garden tour post, and loved every single photo! You must have had a wonderful time being able to visit such splendid gardens. Happy Gardening!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Your garden is looking so lush and pretty, Nicole. All the hard work you put in has certainly paid off!
ReplyDeleteHi couldn't comment on your newest post, but I wanted to say what beautiful gardens!!!! They are so lovely aren't they. Thank you so very much for taking us along!!!! I hope that all is OK with you? xx
ReplyDeleteLove the garden tour photo's on the next post. Makes me feel all inspired too! Hope things are well for you guys xx
ReplyDeleteAh...Nic...I love how you live your life with your beans. I just adore you! Yes...being able to see flowers out of every window...yes! :) xoxo Jen
ReplyDeleteNic, I tried to comment on your most recent post about your garden tours, but wasn't able to. Beautiful gardens. Have mercy! The ivy growing up the house! xoxox Jen
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, I tried to leave a comment below your latest post about the garden tours, but couldn't, so I just leave it here. Some of the gardens are really majestic and the size of the properties just amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe photos from you own garden look just as lovely, though. You have a lot of color going on and the whole place looks quite summery and cheerful.
Warm regards,
Christina
