the blank slate
The chair is from Ikea and the little sofa is from World Market. I got the throw pillows from Target and everything else we had. Potted up I have a white geranium, boxwood, lily of the valley, and a mixed pot with oxalis, sweet potato vine and a begonia.
I think I may just have a glass of wine out there later!
And here is just a pretty photo from our walk in the park today!
Happy Making, Baking, and Growing!
What a change....The lower patio looks like a comfortable and cozy place to sit enjoying a book and a glass of wine. So nice to spend some quiet moments when Beans are to bed at night.

ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, Gosh it's good to catch up with all you've been doing over the last few months, I missed the beautiful photos of your garden and all the green inspiration you share... I'll need it more than ever the rest of this year as we're moving to an apartment with no outside space before we buy again next year, so your pictures will have to keep me going! Your patio and your whole garden is looking good, and I loved what you did with your girls' room, so cute but also so grown up, definitely somewhere that can grow with them. It's interesting to read that you are getting in to permaculture too, My hubby did part of his university degree on permaculture! Have a fabulous weekend! Cate, xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love how you put everything together! Cheers! :)

What a lovely inviting corner - I'd love to sit there with a cup of tea (or glass of wine!) and just soak it all in. Don't think I could get away with the lovely sofa here - I'd be constantly running out to rescue the cushions when it rained! The chair though I could cope with - Ikea here I come! xx

It's beautiful. It inspires me (I want a patio now!). You made a great impact using a minimal amount of furniture and it is unique (I love unique).
ReplyDeleteThe plants were well chosen and wow at the white geranium.
It seems like a friendly-cost cost patio corner but it looks like a million dollars.

ReplyDeleteOh Nicole, what a delightful space you've made! I have a similar space that has been recently created in the garden. It has left me with a very wide border to plant up, and a large space to fill. I am hankering after a relaxed seating area, and yours have given me such inspiration. Enjoy that glass off wine, my friend. And thank you for your lovely words written on my blog. They are very much appreciated.

Nicole, I need to have you come and arrange my patio! My husband has so much stuff out there (hedge trimmers, rakes, shovel, wheel barrow), I tell him it looks like The Grapes of Wrath! I'd like to make it so pretty that would never happen again, and you really have a talent for it!

The stone walls, slate flooring, beautiful furniture and planters, and the setting, is all just perfect. A lovely grown-up space for a very busy Mom to enjoy at the end of a long day. I so wish I could stop by and visit with a bottle of wine. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteYou've created a really beautiful corner, Nicole. I like the way that you have kept the colour neutral so that the whole area feels quiet and contemplative - your wine will have to be white!!
