we painted our old fence posts today...
I repurposed my old garden buckets and filled them with cement to hold the posts....
Their little space connects to our veggie plot
buried the buckets and began laying out annuals (Verbena Boniariensis and Salvia black and blue) between the posts....
added some stumps from my parents house for sitting and a pallet for a bridge entering the garden...
Things left to do....
paint the back sides of the posts
make some hooks for our watering cans
plant more annuals between our posts
add some blue stones (shiny as requested from my bean girls) to represent water in-between our bridge slats
have the beans make their pots of annuals that they will be responsible for this summer
So there you have it! A little spot for the beans to be in the garden. And I just wanted to say I'm a bit behind with my blog reading but will be around to check in with everyone today!! Have a great start to your week friends!!! And happy growing!!!
awww...that is so gorgeous Nicole, it's made my day xxxx
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you share your enthusiasm for gardening with the beans :-) Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day. You guys have been busy! The beans did a great job on painting their fence posts. I really like the bridge made from the old pallet. Verbena bonariensis is one of my favorites, although I don't have any at this home. Cant' wait to see the "water" the children create. Enjoy the rest of your special day. xo

ReplyDeleteVerbena bonariensis is one of my all time favourite plants. It looks lovely with some ornamental grasses, by the way. I love your idea to paint the posts. And huge well done for involving your beans. That's something I must try harder with. The youngest helped me pot up some seedling yesterday and we spent a lovely hour together. Have a very good week. What a great encouragement you give to your little ones by teaching them to enjoy gardening fun at an early age:) Very creative too:) Have a nice week to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHow great to get your beans out in the garden. Yes, blue beads or stones are a must under the foot bridge! And some seashells too, if you have any? xx
ReplyDeleteI do not know how I ever became a gardener (most real gardeners would probably argue that I am not one now) because no one ever taught me how to garden. Oh, the memories The Beans will have.
