Here is where we started...
And here is the after....
The antique highboy dresser, small china cabinet, and small dresser in the closet were all from a gal here in my town. She finds old vintage pieces and refinishes them. We were so excited to find her as I feel good about reusing what is already out there and her work is amazing!
This china cabinet is perfect for the girls to display all of their special treasures and we even found a note inside dating back to 1955 as this was once someone's wedding gift!
I'm very passionate about putting spaces together and this one was extra special for me! Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Happy Creating Friends!

Wow!!!! I want to move in! You have done such a beautiful job. Everything looks amazing. Lucky little ladies to have such a wonderful room to enjoy. Have a great week xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! Oh, I love this room. I clicked and enlarged and studied and took it all in. Your girls have a beautiful room. I have a friend and her husband who own a furniture consignment shop and they are always painting china cabinets, chests etc. to re-purpose. How neat that you found a note from 1955 in the china cabinet. Wouldn't the bride that rec'd that be thrilled that your girls are enjoying it. I love the colors, the art and especially the butterfly and dragonfly touches! The twin beds that belonged to your grandparents are sweet.....my sis and I shared a room with twin beds growing up. By the way, do your girls occasionally draw an imaginary line down the middle of the room when things aren't going well??? lol
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job.
Hi Nicole. You are such an amazing artist in all you do! The bedroom is exquisite! (I like that word!) I love that the twin beds were passed down in your family....they really are show pieces. You brought it all together wonderfully! Happy Gardening! xx
ReplyDeleteWow. It's so beautiful. I love everything about this room, and it will certainly grow with them. It already seems very elegant and grown-up. They will just love being in there. You did a terrific job, Nicole!
ReplyDeleteWonderful transformation! I really love the way you have used different patterns and textures to create this warm, engaging space. And the little shelf area of current favorite books - such a great idea! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole - I am amazed, well, then again, I'm not, because I know what a talented and creative Mom your two little girls have! They are so lucky to have this beautiful room to grow in - every detail is wonderful, from the drapes to that beautiful china cabinet! I love that you have re-used and re-purposed things you had on hand and used treasured family pieces to bring this gorgeous room together. The colors are wonderful - love all the little artistic touches. Very beautiful! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteNicole- Well, that is just a beautiful room. You have the same talent inside as you have in your gardens. Everything "flows" beautifully. I am tickled you were able to use some repurposed pieces...especially that hutch. How cute is that! You did a GREAT job and it is not too "little girl" so it can grow with them. Perfect! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteNicole: I think you could be an interior decorator. I was in awe of how the quilts you chose for the beds made the wood stand out so beautifully. I love the vintage pieces and how you arranged the art in the room. Job well done....you should be proud. Have a great week friend. Beckie xo
ReplyDeleteoh, wow Nicole! It's such a gorgeous, perfect space.....so much great color, but it still manages to such a peaceful looking space. And great job striking the balance between a space that appeals to everyone in the family, but is still clearly a place that kids will love to be. Great idea putting the china cabinet in there--I bet they love having that space to display things :)
ReplyDeleteI really love what you've done and echo what others have said about you could be an interior decorator. I guess it stands to reason that you have an eye for decor and design given you love to design gardens too. Have a great week ahead. I'm taking a bit of blogging break myself. xx
