My computer is finally back from the shop and January is already coming to a close. The fantastic program "Parenthood," one of my favorites, is also coming to a close. A wonderfully written show about a family and the passing of time. To say that watching it doesn't stir something in my soul would be a lie as this show captures the joys and sorrows that affect us all in life.
And speaking of life it has been a bit nuts around here. Most days I'm running 5 kids this way and that so my creative time has been limited as I need to hit the pillow to get rest at the end of the day.
But in those moments where time just stops, just for that brief second, I'm able to see it. Really see it...and I'm thankful for that.
Wishing you all some magical moments this weekend!

So sweet; love ya!
ReplyDeleteYou have already given me some magical moments by sharing such a sweet post with darling pictures :) I loved seeing the fort inside...my son and I love making forts in his bedroom.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday, sweet friend. Hugs to you!
Busy times make good memories. Enjoy them. Your creativity shines through your beans and your photos. Have a great week, friend!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post Nicole--your artist's eye is evident in everything you do, every picture you take, your children's handiwork, everything. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such clever ideas - the love hearts wrapped around the twigs and the evergreen hearts pegged up with the artwork are gorgeous. I'm also rather envious of all that snow! Enjoy your Sunday. x
ReplyDeleteYou have some fun projects happening for all of the kids in your life! I love/hate your snow. I wish we would get some but at the same time, it is has been like Spring here and I am not sure I want to trade that in for snow. As if I have a say in it... yeah. Love the leaf hearts. Those are really cute!
ReplyDeleteYou must have to have a really creative brain to keep five children amused and out of harms way. I remember building tents with sheets and chairs just like your picture. All you can do now is wait for nicer weather to arrive when they can all go outside and run round like wild things again and maybe give you a bit of a rest. Wishing thinking eh!
ReplyDeleteSoo sweet this post!it s true..sometimes we are running around and we miss those magical moments..💕
ReplyDeleteYou capture so many magical moments in your pictures, I love it. Children playing in ´their house´ under table and chairs, so familiar to me, playing outside in the snow and then all your lovely heart creations.......wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday and a wonderful new week!
Janneke
Everyday life looks quite wonderful at yours. Everyone is having lots of fun I think. Wishing you and yours plenty of magic too. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteOh Nicole.. any time I pop over here I am blessed with time slowing down. Just scrolling through your pictures reminds me to capture a few moments of our own! It is always such a lovely pleasure popping by.. So thank you! Much love this coming week my friend xxx Hazel x
ReplyDeleteWonderful and happy pictures! I love the fort one! I hope you and your family are having a beautiful weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Nicole,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautifully illustrated post. The images capture some magical moments in your family life. It is in these seemingly inconsequential activities that true happiness and satisfaction are to be found. And, yes, it is so good to give thanks.
We, your readers, feel privileged to be able to share these tender times. It shares the magic and, for that, we give thanks too.
I love your beans' artwork!! And the way you've displayed it is just fab! We've had snow here but it's just about gone now except for on the hills. Thanks so much for putting me on your sidebar, I'm so thrilled!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI am on Season 2 of Parenthood on Netflix and I am enjoying it so much, what a great show.
ReplyDeleteLove your moments to remember.
Hugs,
Meredith
I remember being exhausted running two kids around . . . much less five! Your home always looks warm and full of love. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Always such lovely posts Nicole, so full of thoughtfull sentiments. This time last January my computer shut down and it took me over 2 weeks to get a working one partly because the weather was so bad that shipping was a problem. I ordered 3 units before I got one that actually worked. (Gave up on the 2 PCs and Sprung for a iMac out of desperation.) We just started watching Parenthood on Amazon Prime and we love it! Not having cable and pretty much not liking mainstream TV, we had neglected this one. The current season was on the other night when I turned on the TV and I had to quickly change the channel to avoid a spoiler!
ReplyDeleteyou're wonderful, mama!
ReplyDeleteglad that you've got your computer back. my friend put in the first season of Parenthood in my hardrive. i should start to watch it.
Beautiful family photo and lovely captures. Sounds like you're keeping very busy!
ReplyDeleteFive children - my goodness, you must be exhausted!! I am so glad that your computer is alright and that you are back again. Not as glad as you are though I am sure! All of the artwork and crafty things that you and the children have been making are wonderful! xx
ReplyDeleteHow come you have 5 kids? Are you watching 2 more, or do you have 2 I didn't know about?
ReplyDeleteI love Parenthood too!!!!! It is my favorite TV program, because it is entertaining and realistic at the same time. I will so miss it, as it touches my heart so often and makes you pause and examine what is important in life.
Did your picture arrive intact?
Cindy
Ha! I have 3 I watch 2....so we are busy!!! Thank you again for the print!!! It arrived safe and sound and perfect!!!
DeleteYay for the return of your computer Nicole! Your life lately sounds like a literal whirlwind and I hope you're able to find time to catch your breath. These moments you've managed to capture look truly magical. So sweet to see your beans having fun and their works of art. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a marvelous week dear friend!
ReplyDeletehow did I miss you had five children....I thought you had three. Wow my math is bad. LOL. Enjoy those busy adventures. My son turned 26 this week and we had him for brunch today and watched old movies of when him and his sister were toddlers. It was precious. ENJOY......the years pass quickly (even if at the time you want to pull your hair out).
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely post! Everyday magic is all around us , we just have to stop , be mindful and see it! I love all your hearts, sometimes less is really more! Blanket forts are the best fun!! Have a great week and stay warm and keep well
ReplyDeleteThe heart garland is adorable!
ReplyDeleteNicole, your photos radiate so much joy around you and in your home. It makes me smile:) Life is good to you my friend. Stay blessed:)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, you have a lovely house and family and they have a great mom x
ReplyDeleteLoved your magical moment photos! I was looking through family photos last night and I wanted time to just stop so I could enjoy those moments forever, but it won't so I am trying to enjoy them when they are here and now. They grow so fast and when you think they will stay little forever, suddenly they aren't any more...that is what happened to me, and I miss those busy busy days! Of course I am still busy :) but it is different so I am trying to enjoy this phase before it is gone too! Hugs Nicole!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful moments and memories you have managed to capture here Nicole, something to hold on to in the whirl of the busy everyday! Wishing you a happy week ahead and hopefully a little time to create! X
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie Parenthood with Steve Martin, but never the TV show. I liked the movie. Your beans look like they are having fun out in the snow.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous winter photos, can't imagine being in snow with the heat we are experiencing here in NZ. That magic quote is so true.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week.
Julie xoxo

ReplyDeleteThere are special magical moments to treasure and we must make sure we capture as many as possible specially with our little ones as they are growing.. I try to capture those now of my grandbabies... they all grow so fast with love Janice happy new week
ReplyDeleteIt's a good life and I'm glad you can see it too, Nicole. I'm tired all the time too andI only have to chase after ONE child. You have to chase five. I honestly don't know how you do it, you super woman!

ReplyDeletehope you had a restful weekend. i didn't follow parenthood but perhaps i should. this is the second blog that mentioned its ending and how wonderful the show was!
ReplyDeleteBeing busy with your kids is the best kind of busy! I wish my kids still wanted to be busy with me ;) Now they sleep in, want to go to the mall, want money!! It's not as fun as when I called the shots ha! Enjoy your week Nicole! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteLoving the little snippets into your life. Having fun and enjoying spending time with your littles is the best thing. You are helping them to create memories that they will treasure forever!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quote Nicole. I haven't watched parenthood, but I don't watch many tv shows. Instead we have a rather large DVD collection, as when you feel like watching something you can guarantee that there'll be nothing on! :-)
ReplyDeleteSarah x

Thank you so much, sweet friend, for joining the Roses of Inspiration party. I was thrilled to see you shared your candy garland {which, by the way, is adorable} Have a great day, Nicole :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo many special moments. I love the living room fortress of blankets. The shot of the amaryllis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful home!
ReplyDeletethat last photo and saying :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Is that all your family in the first picture? What a great keepsake! I have recently learned that the little moments mean so much and they are the ones you'll remember. It is so hard when time passes by so quickly!
ReplyDeleteHello sweet Nicole - a heart touching post to be sure. It did pull on my heartstrings to see those sweet little childhood mementos and the living room 'tent' - oh, I remember those so well, with bowls of cheerios and fruit for 'picnics' and running Daddy's flashlight batteries down! You have your priorities straight and I know how long some of those days can be when you can't get a thing done that you set out to do, but instead spent the time keeping those tiny hands busy. I just watched the last episode of Parenthood - I never missed an episode if I could help it - and it was so poignant. Happy and sad at the same time. I just with those wonderful television shows could last forever....but time does go by and we have to go with it. Thank you for your dear, sweet condolences and your friendship, Nicole. You are a very special person. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteAh...Nic, I understand and completely know the feeling. I love that you can take a moment to really see the magic in life. Yes, those tiny moments are the true magic of life. I hope you are getting enough rest. I've been thinking of you dearie! xoxoxoxox Jen
ReplyDeleteI want to make a pillow fort! They were the best. :o) I've never watched Parenthood but I do watch the Walking Dead, which accurately summarizes how I felt when my kids were babies and toddlers.
ReplyDeleteVery nice series !
ReplyDeletesnow and blanket forts...looks like the perfect January :)
ReplyDeleteMagical moments indeed. Love to you Nicole. Jo x
