The whole house is a tornado at the present moment as I move things from one location to another to try and create new spaces before the school year starts. Here is a peek into our little art room/work room. Not finished but being used in the process. Paint needs to be touched up and supplies need to be moved up here and sorted in bins. The beans' library will be in here as I feel that books are taking over the house! I find joy in moving things and finding new purposes for them...you?!?! Most everything in here was moved from different locations in our home. Minus my work desk which was 40 dollars from IKEA. Wishing everyone a lovely weekend! I will be around tonight to drop by and say hello! We have been out for a nice day at a farm......
Happy baking, making, and growing!
I am always impressed by your creativity in your home, love the fresh colours in all the spaces. And what to say about books taking over your home, I know all about that. No books are leaving our home, I love my books an my husband his books, but there are coming in more and more, our life will probably end in one large library....... Your beans must have had a lovely day at the farm. Wish you all a happy weekend and a great start of the new week!
ReplyDeleteI love to move things around too . . . and I love books! That last photo is beautiful and I love the one of your "beans" . . . you have such photogenic children ~ even from behind. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the artwork in photo 1 - did you do it? Books make a home look lived in, can never have too many of them, in saying that, sometimes they do get culled.
ReplyDeleteI did!
DeleteI love moving things, my husband gets a teensy bit exasperated, claiming he can never find anything.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when you finish moving things, the result will be great. I can't wait to see! Enjoy the weekend! :)
ReplyDeletep.s: I love your photos, as always! And I also like your paintings!
Full scale, room rearranging used to be my favorite thing when I lived with my parents, not so easy now i'm a grown up with too much stuff in a tiny house... but I try! Your in-progress room is looking like a wonderfully creative space already, so I can't wait to see the finished (for now) look!! I love that last photo from your trip, i'm not sure i fully understand it, but I can't stop staring at it... Have a beautiful weekend! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing your work/art room and what you are doing there - also neat that you can move the books there too. I adore the sweet photo of the beans at the farm, such a darling photo.
Happy weekend
hugs
Carolyn
We need this king of room !!
ReplyDeletea art and handwork room just for people like us who are creative.
I like yours, it is personal. Great..
I like the painting with the red wine bottle..and the apple (my French roots!!)
Have a great week end.
Miss
You are so organized and ready for the new school year! Lucky little beans!
ReplyDeleteI love to get organized too, but our house is so small, the options are limited for moving things around. Your little work room is so cute. I'm sure you all will have lots of fun times in there together.

Oh, how I love the looks of that little art room...have been on vacation for the past two weeks. Will catch up on what you've been up to in the meantime, this weekend. Bet the Beans sleep good tonight, dreaming of those big horses! XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteI love your painting style...you're a great artist and glad you instill them in your children too...I can already see that they've got what you've got too:) The photo of the wee ones are so precious! oh...they don't remain little for long...treasure them:) and stay blessed!
ReplyDeleteI'm CONSTANTLY moving things from room to room. You know, all you have to do is move one single item and it spurs a whole rearranging frenzy. Or is that just me? I moved some of my house plants to the patio last week to give them some fresh summer air. Well, that left gaping holes where they had been! Soooo, off to shop other rooms of the house. :0)
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe are also having many, many books in the house, every place is full of them:)
Oh my I LOVE that last picture Nicole! It has given me some inspiration for a rocky slope in our yard.
ReplyDeleteI love rearranging and finding different places for things. It always freshens spaces up and makes me feel better about them :-)

The little room is just right, Hope you and family have a lot of happy days creating things in it. Lastly I love that blue planter and wire climbing frames in the garden x
ReplyDeleteLove your spaces! I love moving things and finding new nooks and assigning new jobs for stuff...very satisfying - looks like a lovely day on the farm xx
ReplyDeleteHello Nicole,
ReplyDeleteIt is always good from time to time to move things around since that often helps one to really see things more clearly. You have some fun and imaginative ideas for storing things already and you do seem to have created useful space for meeting everyone's needs. It is not always easy to do this in the relatively small spaces of a house.
We have looked back to the previous post and have to say what a fabulous garden that looks to be. So many great ideas which one can employ in one's own more modest garden and so very pretty. The tints and tones of the purple border we found to be particularly appealing.
love everything-enjoy your weekend
ReplyDeleteRe-purposing is so rewarding! Everything is simple, useful and kind to the eye! Have you ever thought of being a professional organizer?
ReplyDeleteYour new room is coming along nicely - it will be a lovely space to work in and good that you are re-purposing stuff from around the house instead of having to spend a shed load of money. The visit to the farm looks fun. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the spaces you are creating, I'm afraid when our kids were small everything was much too jumbled and chaotic.
ReplyDeleteI love moving things around as well. Your spaces look amazing!

I LOVE repurposing things ... especially inherited things that I no longer want/can use for their original purpose. Canning crates for an end table, tin recipe box for seed packets, my dad's wardrobe for my craft cupboard ... the list goes on and on!! You're making a lovely bright space in your workroom, and I'll bet the kids love using this space too. And look at how much all of your kids have grown!! Wow!! They'll be dwarfing you before you know it (my son shot past me in one summer!). Enjoy your weekend, and I hope you share the farm visit one day ;) Wendy x
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, my goodness what a great artist you are! I do love your paintings in the first picture, they're full of color and full of life! You're so right to change things around, makes you feel like your house is bigger!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice nummer and...I thought there were only 2 beans but just saw that they are 3!. Must be a handfull, but so much fun!
I love having a good old change around. It always makes everything feel fresh and new. Your new creative space is looking great. Happy week to you lovely xoxo
ReplyDeleteLoving the kids' art area! I'm supposed to be working on our schoolroom for the year--speaking of getting organized and making spaces....oops :)
ReplyDeleteYou use your home space so well, Nicole. I always feel inspired to fix something up after I've visited you. I love that photo of your beans on the fence, so sweet!

ReplyDeleteI love the way you moved things around and I always love pics of the Beans.
ReplyDeleteHappy organising to you!! I am glad that you are having some fun times too!! Are the paintings in the first photo yours? They are wonderful!! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that you're using these spaces as you finish fixing them up just the way you want. being able to repurpose items while also finding new homes from them is incredibly satisfying to me as well. Love that your work desk was just $40. We got the computer desk that I share with my husband from Ikea for $90 and have been using it for years. Gotta love a good bargain :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have an amazing week new week Nicole! That pic of your beans is too cute!

I love how resourceful you are. Excellent job and what a cool space. :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! Your work space looks wonderful, especially with all your artwork decorating the walls. I'd love to see a post with nice, big shots of your artwork someday. Garden's looking great too--you are so multi-talented and amazing :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Diana
Beautifully creative, Nicole - the art room is coming along so nicely! I love what you have done so far - it is going to be a fabulous place to create! How sweet is that photo of your babies looking through the fence? I just love it - aren't they so precious? The water trough planter is really special and I love the terraced garden! Very inspiring post - well, all your posts are inspiring! Wishing you a lovely week, sweet friend. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteyes! i love moving things and finding new purposes for some :) looks like the work room is coming along!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the moving! I always love fresh new spaces- full of possibilities :) x
ReplyDeleteThe art room looks so nice!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're a busy bee! I too love moving things and re-organising. I can't wait to see finished art room, it looks really nice as it is already.
ReplyDeleteI could use your help moving and repurposing things around my house...it is a lot of work, your room is looking good! How fun, I love farms, they make me happy!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love moving things about! It's funny how some little changes can make all of the difference. I have always rearranged furniture from being a little girl. My mum said she would come into my room and I had moved the whole wardrobe by myself! I haven't changed either. :) It looked like you had a fun time at the farm. :)
ReplyDeleteI go crazy repurposing everything around my house. Crazy good feeling! xoxo Jen
