I have a few plants growing inside this winter like these Paperwhites. It makes me happy to see growth and green in the dead of winter and reminds me that with these new blooms there are new and exciting possibilities this year in my garden. To me that is the beauty of gardening. The possibilities!
I was thrilled when my friend Trishie from the stunning blog Under Lock and Key invited me to join along in her new monthly blog link-up.
Floral Fridays is a monthly photography project with different themes each month. This series is about fun and taking time out to smell the flowers! I know so many of you have a thing for flowers like me, so if you would .like to play along please email Trishie at {trishie@underlockandkeyblog.com} about this fun flower project!!!

Oh, that is a very sweet flower. I don't think I've ever grown anything indoors - it would be lovely, though. x
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a sweet flower. I don't think I've ever grown anything inside - it would be lovely to have such freshness and prettiness inside. x
ReplyDeleteSo pure... it's always amazing to see any kind of new blooms in the winter even if inside!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing flowers blooming in the house too, but unfortunately I just don't have space for any more plants (and I don't have that many to begin with). Your paperwhites look so pretty, and they always bring spring a teeny bit closer even though we're in the thick of winter now. Happy New Year Nicole! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo! I love paperwhites, I just wish they made an unscented version. I just found some daffodil bulbs that somehow didn't make it in the ground that I am going to force inside the house. congrats on the link party invite. Fun!
ReplyDeleteOkay dolly... I took advantage of our gorgeous afternoon and found a few flowers too :)

Its nice to see blooms in the middle of winter!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a welcome sight in the dead of winter.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Flowers like these don't do very well in our heat, so I shall enjoy them in your pictures :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea for a blog hop.
ReplyDeleteI need to get out into my garden and look for new blooms.
My paperwhites in the garden are just green right now with no bloom ready to appear.
I can't wait for my paperwhite to bloom! Right now it's just a long stalk in a mason jar. ; ]
ReplyDeleteMy daughter also has a peanut allergy, but is OK with tree nuts. However, the only nuts she eats are Blue Diamond almonds since they're the only ones we can find not contaminated with peanuts.
Hope you're having and nice weekend and thank you regarding the kind words about my book!
I love Paperwhites inside in this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like fun, Nicole! I look forward to seeing all the flowers. Love your photo today - the new bloom just unfurling. I grew paperwhites for the very first time this year and they have been blooming so pretty since Christmas day. The whole room is filled with their beautiful scent. I also have some hyacinth bulbs coming up in the window sill, another thing I have never grown inside. I think I will grow them every year. I will take a peek at your friend's blog and all the entries. Thanks for sharing and hope you and the beans are keeping cozy. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, how nice that you have been forcing paperwhites indoors! I love growing bulbs in the house in the winter time, but this year I was so busy that I didn't get around to get them started. Now, of course, it is way too late :-(. I try to concentrate on getting the garden ready for spring already (mulching, mulching, mulching...) and planted some pansies. They really cheer me up. I can't wait to follow your blog and see what possibilities you let become reality this year in your garden. Warm regards,
ReplyDeleteChristina

Happy New Year

Flowers indoors make all the difference at this time of year. This is a really nice link up, so fresh and pretty. I am not good at keeping up with these things but I am tempted by this one.
ReplyDeletePaperwhites are so lovely and so is what you said about growth in the midst of winter. Glad to have discovered you through the blog hop :) Happy New Year Nicole!
