I am a rock collector. I love them in the garden and I have a collection in my home from every place we have been over the years.
To see them in the garden with plants cascading around them just makes for a beautiful scene.
So when Jeremy from Adirondack Stone Works contacted me about doing a review for his company I was very interested. It has been a goal of mine to shop more mindfully and after visiting his website and seeing his work, I knew this was a review I needed to do!
We are a small family run business located at our homestead in rural upstate New York. We are just a few miles from the Adirondack Park and in the picturesque rolling foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Having worked with stone his whole life, Jeremy started engraving stones back in 2002, and has been refining the process over the years.
We feel truly blessed that we are able to work from home and be there for our 3 wonderful children. -Tavia and Jeremy

From address stones to inspiration stones....he has something for everyone and every garden!!
He offers free shipping in the US and his stones arrive in a week.
Our stone was delivered today and when I opened the package I felt pure joy! The quality of his work blew me away. The stone is natural bluestone and is literally 2 inches thick and weighs at least 20 pounds. And his work is flawless!
I feel proud to be sharing Jeremy's work with all of you because I believe in supporting small businesses who create an outstanding product. I'm looking forward to getting out in the garden and finding the perfect spot for our new stone and I know someone else who is too!
A new piece for these 2! Thanks Jeremy! We will treasure it!
A wonderful week to everyone!
I love his work, he has done such a beautiful job. There is something special about having stepping stones in a garden I think. We have a bit of a rock garden happening in one of the old wine barrels, it is perfect for the dinosaurs to roam around in. Adore the name Norah, so very pretty xo
ReplyDeleteYou know the lovely river rock formations that we try to create...in colorado it didn't dawn on me until I saw actual live river bed / creek formations that I realized... ohhhh that's what everyone is trying to re-create in their back yards and yet in colorado...they actually really just have creeks naturally! But yes there's something so lovely about rocks which is why i love japanese rock gardens. super zen, and they add architectual dimension. That's very sweet, the sisters rock that you have now. I'm sure you will find just the perfect place for it in your garden coming up soon!
ReplyDeleteWell how cool to have something so wonderful for the girls in the garden! Jeremy did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteWow beautiful stonework! And how sweet is the one he made for you! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt is very nice to see the garden with rocks and plants around them. Carvings in the rock pieces also in good finish...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work of the Adirondack Stone Comp., love these stone gardens, but your sister stone is such a pretty creation with the sweet quote.
ReplyDeleteYou and my granddaughter would get in a fight. She also collects rocks and she is 13. Everytime she comes over and sees a rock in the yard she likes she takes it, small ones that is. My Hubby works at a stone yard and brings her small ones home. Our Daughter is telling us to stop. HA! HA!
ReplyDeleteI love rocks in the garden too! Which is a good thing as our block is full of rocks, which is kind of good cause the tractor can just drag them in from the paddock to a suitable spot in the garden, when we find a nice looking one :-)
ReplyDeleteThat stone looks so well made! I'll have to have a look at their website although I have a feeling it would be very expensive to get a 20 pound rock shipped all the way over here :-)
Sarah xx
I'm a huge fan of stone as well, so beautiful and natural. His work is wonderful, and it's always nice to support a small family business.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love to support small businesses too! Your rock totally ROCKS! Definitely something to treasure...where are you going to put it?
ReplyDeleteLove your new stone Nicole and especially the photo with that sweet little hand! Thanks for sharing this site. I'll go over and check it out. Doesn't gardening seem so far away right now? This time last year I was starting seeds in the greenhouse but with the girls (chickens) living in the greenhouse this winter, that won't work. They miss scratching in the dirt too and dig up every potted plant I put in there for protection.

He has some really great work!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your stone is gorgeous!
xoxo
Your new stone is lovely Nicole and will be loved for years to come I am sure!! I bet that you can't wait for the weather to be good enough for you to get outside and put it in place and enjoy it. The stonemasons work is lovely, so I can see why you liked it so much! xx oh, only three !, I better give you some more!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (hee hee!!)
ReplyDeleteA garden is like an artist's canvas….it should take you on a journey. A large single boulder has the ability to drawer a viewers eye to a focal point, and a path of stones takes you on a wonderful joinery.
ReplyDeleteI have loads in my garden too Nicole.
I love your new one, lucky chook!

Oh, Nicole - just when you thought a rock couldn't be any more beautiful than it is naturally!!! I am one that ALWAYS picks up rocks and puts them in my pocket when I am out and about, too. I am heading back up to your review to see if you left a link to the company...I have been looking for just the right thing for my special old dog that I lost last year. You ROCK, girl - literally AND figuratively! XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole, I also believe in mindful shopping and making conscious decision about what and where I buy, so I appreciate you post about and support for this small family business. What a cute saying you picked for your two lovely girls! I am sure you all will have fun finding just the right spot for the stone in your garden! Warm regards,
ReplyDeleteChristina
I am a rock hoarder myself!! Imagine leaving my in-laws empty-handed when their yard is FULL of flagstone! UGH! The rock you ordered is so neat! What a wonderful piece to enjoy forever!! Thanks for sharing Nicole!

My husband was in to geology as a kid. We still have the rocks we collected. There are a lot, they are heavy. Our moving guy desperately whispered to me 'we're moving rocks?" They are samples, I said, trying to make it better, but he went off shaking his head. I'm a small business enthusiast, big business too if they keep their manufacturing at home and hire local people.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and very interesting thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteHe does some great work and I feel the same way about mindful shopping. Very nice review and product! Enjoy your lovely new sisters stone. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool product! And very cool that he asked you to review his company!
ReplyDeletePersonalized stones like these are so pretty and add a really special touch to your garden. And it's always great to support small family businesses :)

ReplyDeleteHow cool is that?! Can't wait to see it in your spring garden! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, so sweet! Have I mentioned that I love your kids' names? :). I could keep having babies forever just to name them...it's one of my favorite parts ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, I am in love with the engraved stones. I have stones all over our garden and would love to have an engraved one or two in different spots.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this information.
Being a rock nut myself, I fully agree with you. The engraved stones are beautiful and make a perfect addition to your garden and it's obvious your girls love it, too!
ReplyDeleteNicole that is a fantastic choice. The stone will be such a treasure to you and your girls. I LOVE it!! Stay warm lovely lady Jo x
ReplyDeleteI love this inscribed stone! It will be a special addition to your beautiful garden! Great review, too. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that review request! What a keeper!
ReplyDeleteI also love stones/rocks and collect them from wherever I go. I love them for all the geologic history they have kept locked in themselves. Are those pictures from your garden? OMG! you have a stunning, beautiful, .....,put more adjectives here....garden. What are those pink and yellow plants in the second picture? Thanks for that info for that company. I also like small, family-oriented business. I will look into their website and see if I can buy something.
ReplyDeleteI love the sister stone! It will be a treasure for your sweet daughters. What beautiful names they have! I love the engraved stones! They do beautiful work! That last picture is the sweetest of all!!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely work Jeremy does! If I lived o your side of the world I'd definitely get him to do a piece or 10 for us:) What a treasure to have in your garden:) x

ReplyDeleteI love the stones which talks about the sisters.
Beautiful post.
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful and loved seeing all the stones.
How sweet the photo is of your cute children playing in the snow.
Happy rest of the week
hugs
Carolyn
Stones in the garden are the perfect finishing touch. The sister stone is wonderful - what a lovely gift idea for someone special. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteAdorable stone! And your garden is certainly something to look forward to in the Spring!
ReplyDeleteI love companies like this! It seems that you really have to search and search to buy from companies like this and the way to target is paved and readily available... I wish there was an easier way of finding such gems!
ReplyDeleteGood of you to highlight them!
I love small homegrown companies. :o) I'm going to bookmark this for future reference. Love your new sister stone!
ReplyDeleteJeremy certainly makes beautiful carved stone pieces. I also really like the photos you shared at the beginning of the post--the one with the yellow and rose-colored plants--succulents?--and the stone are gorgeous together--starts my gardening wheels turning--something like that on a smaller scale in a container maybe?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of all the flowers and stones/stonework are wonderful. I am now so ready for spring and warmer weather. I would imagine you must be anxious to get some garden dirt under your fingernails, too! What a treasure your engraved stone is! All of Jeremy's stonework is beautiful. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous business to take something from nature and personalise it like that. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great review of this stone work and the owner! Interesting that you collect rocks also! I have so many rocks that it would be terrible if I ever decided to move... I would definitely have to move the rocks too. Aren't they fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the plants growing in amongst the stones. Gorgeous.
