Sometimes when I look at my garden I think that it looks a bit wild. The gardens in your inspiration shots have a similar fullness and unrestrained quality to them. What saves them from being messy looking are the tame portions of the gardens- the paths, the stonework and the clipped grass. These more restrained areas are as critical to a successful garden design as the plantings- that is the lesson I am taking away from your inspiration.
Nicole, this really is some inspiration. I love the look of the fourth image down. The paving detail is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI really just enjoy seeing how others think about their spaces...keeps me motivated while waiting for my garden to fill in!
ReplyDeleteLove it. I love that hardscaping too.

ReplyDeleteLove the paths! And the colors. Very good inspiration, indeed!
ReplyDeleteGreat lesson...I am drawn to the wild but feel calmed by the structured elements in the garden for balance between the two.
